Overview
‘Sanchi Bhimbetka Weekend Getaways’ will give you the chance to explore two most historical places of Madhya Pradesh such as Sanchi and Bhimbetka. Located in Raisen District, Sanchi is one of the most popular for Buddhist vihara and Stupa dated back to 3rd century BCE. The 'Great Stupa' at Sanchi is the oldest structure of Sachi which was built by Ashoka in 3rd century BC.
Located in the foothills of the Vindhyan Mountains in Madhya Pradesh, It is popular for its pre-historic paintings and Bhimbetka Rock Shelters. Bhimbetka caves depicts the early stage traces of human life. As per archaeological records the caves might have been used for shelter over 1000 years ago, which was declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. There are about 600 caves located here but only 12 are open for public. During the tour explore the major attractions of both places.
Itinerary
Day 01 : Bhopal – Sanchi (By Road- 58 kms/01hrs 13min)
Pick up from your advised location in Bhopal, then drive to Sanchi. En-route explore Dewanganj, Salamatpur and other small villages.
Upon arrival at Sanchi, check in to the hotel. After freshen up, explore Buddhist stupas. The place also has remains of the Buddhist saints, Sariputra and Mahamodgilya. Here walk through the stupas and enjoy looking at the captivating Buddhist art.
After sightseeing in Sanchi, return back to the hotel.

Day 2: Sanchi – Bhimbetka (By Road- 89.2kms/01 hr 52min) – Bhojpur (By Road- 25 kms/46min) – Bhopal (By Road- 28kms/51min)
Today after having breakfast, proceed to explore Bhimbetka. A World Heritage Site, Bhimbetka is a place located near Bhopal, just along the Satpura range of mountains. Having approximately 600 rock shelters which are the home of many pre-historic paintings.
On the way, visit Bhojpur. It is the small village, situated on the banks of river Betwa. Visit attractions Bhojeshwar Temple and Jain Shrine. In the evening, return back to Bhopal.
