Overview
‘Wondrous of South India with Sri Lanka’ will give you the chance to explore two most amazing states of Southern India that is Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry. Along with that also explore Sri Lanka. Bounded by the Eastern Ghats on the north, by the Nilgiri, the Anamalai Hills, Tamil Nadu is one of the major state of India. The state is known for its rich history culture and tradition along with multi-religious pilgrimage sites.
Previously known as Pondicherry, which was renamed as Puducherry is a Union Territory of India. The history of the city of Pondicherry is recorded only after the arrival of Dutch, Portuguese, British and French colonialists.
An island country, Sri Lanka is one of the major country in South Asia near south-east India. Formerly known as Ceylon during British colonial rule until 1972. It is the home of many religions and ethnic groups, rich Buddhist heritage and exotic nature.
Itinerary
Day 01: Chennai (Arrival)
Upon arrival in Chennai, meet our representative, after welcome, proceed to the hotel. It is the capital of Tamil Nadu, which is known for its rich culture and traditions. Earlier the city was known as Madras, layers of history that made this city as one of the most vibrant city of southern part of India. Its spectacular beaches, enhanced the beauty of the city.
After finishing check-in formalities. Rest day is free at leisure. In the evening, visit local markets of Chennai. Have your dinner. Overnight Stay in hotel.
Day 02: Chennai
Post breakfast in the morning, proceed for a half day sightseeing tour of Chennai which include Gandhi Memorial, Mylapore Temple, Marina Beach and Kalakshetra. Overnight stay at the hotel in Chennai.
Day 03: Chennai – Kanchipuram (By Road- 74 Kilometres) – Mahabalipuram (By Road- 66 Kilometres)
Post breakfast; proceed towards Mahabalipuram, It is also known as Mamallapuram, it is a historical town and this 7th century former port city is famous for its rock-cut shore temples. It is also a great destination for lazy beach holiday with sea, sand and sun.
En-route visiting Kanchipuram, The major Kanchipuram tourist attractions include visits to the Kailasanthar Temple, Ekambareshwarar Temple, The Vardarajanperumal Temple and the Sakkiswarar Temple.
After visit, resume the drive towards Mahabalipuram . On arrival, check-in at your pre-booked hotel. Have dinner and staying overnight.
Day 04: Mamallapooram- Tiruvannamalai (By Road-179 Kilometres)- Pondicherry (By Road-100 Kilometres)
Post breakfast drive towards Pondicherry. Puducherry (previously called Pondicherry) charms tourists with its three lined avenues, painted colonial buildings and sea breeze. In 1974, the French built a base here.
On the way, visit Tiruvannamalai. Explore the beautiful temples in this city. Thereafter, have lunch and continue your drive towards Pondicherry. On reaching Pondicherry, check in at the hotel. Rest of the day is free at leisure. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 05: Pondicherry
After breakfast, proceed to Aurobindo Ashram. Post lunch, proceed for sightseeing tour of Pondicherry such as Pondicherry Museum, Goubert Avenue, war, war memorial etc. Overnight stay in the hotel.
Day 06: Pondicherry - Chennai (By Road-170 Kilometres) - Colombo (By Flight) – Kandy (By Road-135.1 kilometres)
In the morning, check out of your hotel and drive back to Chennai airport where you can board the flight to Colombo.
Upon arrival in Colombo airport, you will be welcomed our representative and transferred to Kandy. One of the renowned tourist destination of Sri Lanka and is the second largest city in the country after Colombo. Located at the foothills in the Kandy plateau and it is the home to the Royal Palace and the Temple of the Sacred Tooth, which houses the holy relic of the tooth of the Buddha.
Upon arrival check in to the hotel. After freshen up, proceed for City tour of Kandy including Kandy Lake, Kandy town, markets , the arts and crafts centre etc. Also visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy. Thereafter enjoy a cultural show.
After sightseeing return back to the hotel.

Day 07: Kandy- Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage- Kandy (By Road- 41 Kilometres)
Today after breakfast, proceed to explore Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. An orphanage, nursery and captive breeding ground for wild Asian elephants. Situated at Pinnawala village, it is the home to about 60 elephants.
After visit, return back to hotel in Kandy. Rest day is free at leisure. You may enjoy the shopping here and buy traditional handicrafts or antiques or Batiks.
Overnight stay at Kandy.
Day 08: Kandy - Nuwara Eliya (By Road-41 Kilometres)
Today after breakfast, transfer to Nuwara Eliya. It is the most beautiful hill town of Sri Lanka, located at an elevation of 1980 meters in the central highlands of a tropical island. The city is known for tea production in Sri Lanka.
En-route visit Peradeniya Royal Botanical Garden. Located at 5.5 km to the west from Kandy. It is 147 acres in extent and provides an amazing variety of trees, plants and flowers. Renowned for its collection of orchids.
Arrive at Nuwara Eliya, check-in at your pre-booked hotel. After freshen up, proceed to explore the major attractions of Nuwara Eliya including tea estate tour. After sightseeing return back to the hotel.

Day 09: Nuwara Eliya – Bentota (By Road-211 kilometres)
Today, after having the breakfast, proceed to Bentota. It is one of the most spectacular beach town of Srilanka. Located on the southern bank of the Bentota River mouth, at an elevation of 3 metres above the sea level.
En-route explore Kitulgala. It is a small town in the west of Sri Lanka. It is in the wet zone rain forest and one of the wettest places in the country.
It is the place where Oscar winning film 'Bridge on the River Kwai' was filmed.
Once arrive at Bentota, check-in at your pre booked hotel. Rest day is free at leisure.
Overnight at Bentota.
Day 10: Bentota
Have breakfast at the hotel. The whole day is at leisure. Explore the splendid surroundings of Bentota on your own. Bentota offers great water sports possibilities. Apart from swimming, body-surfing or diving in the sea, you can jet-ski, windsurf, parasail or river safari on the river and lagoon on your own. (No vehicle available).
Day 11: Bentota – Colombo (By Road-87 kilometres)
After breakfast, proceed to Colombo. It is the capital cities of Sri Lanka. Colombo was known to ancient traders 2,000 years ago, due to its large harbour and its strategic position along the East-West sea trade routes.
Enroute, embark on a city tour of Colombo. Explore colonial buildings, Hindu and a Buddhist temple, the oriental bazaar at Pettah, the Fort, the Bandaranaike Memorial, Colombo Museum and the folk art centre.
Day 12: Depart Colombo
Today is the last day of your tour. After breakfast, proceed to Colombo airport for your flight back home.
