Overview
‘Wonders of Khajuraho with Orchha’ gives you an opportunity to explore two major tourist destinations of Madhya Pradesh that is Khajuraho and Orcha. Khajuraho Group of Monuments is one of the renowned UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Madhya Pradesh. It is the group of Hindu and Jain temples, which are world known for their nagara-style architectural symbolism and their erotic sculptures. Khajuraho temples are divided into Eastern and Western group of temples. These temples was built during the period of Chandela rulers.
Orchha combines the architectural beauty of a medieval town with the quiet charm. It is located in Tikamgarh district of Madhya Pradesh state, which was established by Rudra Pratap Singh during 1501, as the seat of an eponymous former princely state of central India. The town is situated on the banks of Betwa River.
Itinerary
Day 1: Jhansi- Orchha (By Road- 18 kilometres)
Upon arrival at Jhansi railway station and drive to Orchha. On arrival at Orcha, check-in to your pre booked hotel. After freshen up, proceed to visit the major attractions of the town including Orchha fort complex, Raja Ram Temple, Phool Bagh and Laxminarayan Temple . After sightseeing return back to the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2: Orchha
Today after having breakfast, proceed to explore some other major attractions of Orchha including Sunder Mahal, Raj Mahal, Orchha Sanctuary, Chattris and Chaturbhuj Temple. After sightseeing return back to the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3: Orchha-Khajuraho (By Road-173 Kilometres)
After having an early breakfast, drive to Khajuraho and check-in to the hotel. After freshen up, proceed for local sightseeing. Visit to the famous temples including Adinath Temple, Chitragupta Temple and Devi Jagdamba Temple. All these temples were built during Chandela rulers in the 9th and 10th century A.D. af have a comfortable stay at the hotel.
Day 4: Khajuraho
Today, once you have your breakfast, you will leave to explore the world heritage site of Khajuraho temples divided into Eastern and Western group of temples that will include Laxmi & Varha temples Kandariya Mahadev etc. These temples, built at the time of Chandela rulers have structures that glorify erotica.
Day 5: Khajuraho (Departure)
Today is the last day of the tour. After you have your breakfast, check-out of the hotel and proceed to airport/ railway station to board your onward flight/train.
