The trip was great! Everything worked very well The travel itself was well elaborated, the hotels were very well equilibration, from the more basic ones to the luxury resorts as the Dune or the Taj Malabar in Cochin. Overview

‘Short Escape to Thattekad Bird Sanctuary’ will give you the chance to explore the one of the most amazing destination of Kerala, Thattekad Bird Sanctuary. Located about 12 km from Kothamangalam, it was the Kerala’s first bird sanctuary. Often known, as Salim Ali Bird Sanctuar, it is situated about 70 km from Cochin. The Sanctuary has a rich and varied birdlife including Orange-headed thrush, Indian pitta, Large-billed leaf-warble, Jerdon's nightjar, Indian cuckoo, Oriental darter, Cormorants and Whiskered terns etc. During the tour enjoy the amazing bird watching, it is the perfect destination for bird watchers.

Itinerary

Day 01: Cochin – Thattekad (By Road- 70 Kms/02hrs 10min)

In the morning pick up from your advised location, then drive to Thattekad. Upon arrival, check into the wildlife resort on arrival. Rest day is free at leisure. You may enjoy the birds watching within the resort premises.

Later, have a comfortable overnight stay at the resort.

Day 02: Thattekad

Today after breakfast. Proceed to enjoy a bird-watching tour around Thattekad. The Sanctuary has a rich and varied birdlife including Orange-headed thrush, Indian pitta, Large-billed leaf-warbler, Jerdon's nightjar, Indian cuckoo, Oriental darter, Cormorants and Whiskered terns etc. Later, return back to the hotel.

Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 03: Thattekad – Cochin (By Road- 70 Kms/02hrs 10min)

Today is the last day of the tour. After breakfast and drive to Cochin for your onward journey.
