Tour Description

Overview

‘Splendours of North East with Bhutan’ will give you the chance to explore two the exotic nature of North Eastern region in India along with Bhutan. North Eastern region of India is situated on the foothill of the glorious Himalayas (eastern). This amazing region offers the exotic nature along with breath-taking mountains, gorgeous waterfalls and rich wildlife. 
 
Bhutan is one of the most beautiful country in the Himalayas between the Tibet Autonomous Region of China and India. This charming country offers the spectacular nature along with rich culture and tradition. Bhutan is a small country, which is officially known as the Kingdom of Bhutan. It is situated on the foothill of the eastern end of the Himalayas.

Itinerary

Day 01: NJP Railway Station / IXB Airport – Kalimpong (By Road- 74.8 kms/02hrs 20hrs)
 
Upon arrival at NJP Railway station / IXB airport, meet our representative & transfer to Kalimpong – Kalimpong is one of the most picturesque hill station in West Bengal, surrounded with great Himalayas and gently rolling hills around. 
 
On arrival at Kalimpong, check-in to your hotel. Rest day is free at leisure.
Overnight stay will be at Kalimpong. 
 
Day 02: Kalimpong – Gangtok (By Road- 74.8kms/02hrs 20min)
 
After early breakfast visit Mangal Dham, Deolo Hill, Dr.Graham’s Home & Flower Nurseries back to hotel. Post breakfast to Gangtok- “The Capital City of Sikkim”
 
Upon arrival at Gangtok. Check in to the hotel. Rest day is free at leisure. 
Overnight stay will be at Gangtok. 
 
Day 03: Gangtok 
 
Post breakfast, Start for a half day trip of Tsomgo Lake, which is also called as Changu Lake, it is located at the height of 12,400 feet from sea level & Baba Harbhajan Singh Memorial which is located at the height of 13200 feet from sea level, located at the distance of 52 kms from Gangtok city.  It is one of the most beautiful lake in East Sikkim which freezed completely during the winter. 
 
After visiting, return back to the hotel in Gangtok in the evening. Evening is free at leisure, you can explore local markets of the place, where you can buy the local handicraft items. 
 
Overnight stay will be at Gangtok.
 
Day 04: Gangtok - Darjeeling (By Road- 96.8kms/ 03hrs 17min)
 
After having early breakfast, drive to Darjeeling, it is one of the most picturesque Hill Resorts in India, located at the height of the height of 7,100 feet from sea level.
 
Upon arrival at Darjeeling, check-in to hotel. Rest of the day is free at leisure. 
Overnight at Darjeeling. 
 
Day 05: Darjeeling 
 
Today Early Morning drive to Tiger hill to watch the stunning sunrise over Mt. Khangchendzonga, which is known as world’s third highest peak, located at the height of 28,208 ft. On your way back visit Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop. 
 
After breakfast, proceed to take city tour of Darjelling, visit some of the most popular attractions of the city such as Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Tibetan Refugee self-help Centre (closed on Sunday),  P.N. Zoological Park (closed on Thursday) Tenzing Rock, Tea Garden (outer view), and JapaneseTemple. After sightseeing, return back to the hotel. Evening is free at leisure.
 
Overnight stay will be at Darjeeling
 
Day 06: Darjeeling – Chalsa (By Road- 89kms/ 02hrs 47min)
 
Morning after breakfast transfer to Chalsa. It is a beautiful tiny hamlet in in Jalpaiguri district in West Bengal. It is located on the foot hill of Himalaya and surrounded by hills, tea gardens, rivers and forests
 
Afternoon visit Moorty river side & leisure for Guest own. 
Overnight stay will be at Lataguri / Chalsa.
 
Day 07: Garumara Jungle 
 
Today, early morning proceed to explore the Garumara Jungle by Jeep. Back to hotel for breakfast. After breakfast visit Samsing & Sultanekhola afternoon, proceed to Jeep safari at Khunia. Evening back to the hotel. 
 
Overnight stay will be at Chalsa.
 
Day 08: Chalsa – Phuntsholing (By Road- 93.6 kms/02hrs 02min) 
 
Today after having an early breakfast drive to Phuntsholing, border town of Bhutan. There will be some paper work formalities at the border which you have to go through. 
 
After finishing the paper work please proceed to your hotel. Check in to the hotel. Rest of the day leisure or if you wish you can go for a walk around the Phuntsholing town.
 
Overnight stay will be at Phuntsholing.
 
Day 09: Phuntsholing – Thimpu (By Road- 164.7 km/04hrs 26min) 
 
Transfer from Phuntsholing to Thimpu. This drive takes about 06 hrs passing through virgin forest and uninterrupted landscape. This is an unbelievable and beautiful drive.
 
After this beautiful journey check in the hotel in Thimpu, a little spectacular city and the capitol of Bhutan. Rest of the day at leisure.
 
Overnight stay will be at Thimpu.
 
Day 10: Thimpu
 
Today after breakfast, proceed to Full day sightseeing around Thimpu, visiting the National Library, which has ancient Buddhist manuscripts, the Traditional Medicinal Institute where centuries old healing arts like acupuncture and herbal remedies are still practiced.
 
After lunch we suggest to visit the Tashichhodzong, the centre of the Bhutanese Government and the Kings Memorial Chorten. Return to hotel for overnight stay.
 
Day 11: Thimpu – Paro (By Road- 50.2 kms/01hrs 15min) 
 
Transfer from Thimpu to Paro, which is located at the distance of about 52 kilometres, this drive takes about two and a half hours. 
 
Upon arrival check in the hotel. After freshen up, proceed to visit the National Museum, which houses centuries of Bhutanese culture and history. 
 
Return to your hotel for overnight stay.
 
Day 12: Paro
 
After breakfast drive to Drukgyel Dzong, a ruined fortress where Bhutanese warriors fought Tibetan invaders centuries ago.
If the sky is clear one can see Mount Chomolhari.
 
The other places to visit are the seventh century Kyichu Lakhang, one of the hundred and eight temples built in the Himalayas built by the Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo.This temple reflects the introduction of Buddhism in Bhutan. After lunch, explore the town of Paro and Rinpong Dzong.
 
Return to Paro for overnight stay.
 
Day 13: Paro – Phuntsholing (By Road- 160 kms/04hrs 11min) 
 
Today after breakfast, proceed to Phuntsholing. Upon arrival check in to the hotel. Day is free at leisure. 
Overnight at hotel.
 
Day 14: Phuntsholing - NJP Railway station / IXB Airport (By Road- 152.5 kms/03hrs 19min) 
 
Today is last day of your tour, after breakfast, proceed to NJP Railway station / IXB Airport to take your onward train/flight.
