Overview
Ladakh is the most prominent for its stunning beauty of nature, culture and traditions along with the breathtaking views of high remote mountains and upper Indus River Valley. It is located on the foothill of Karakoram Mountain which is subrange of the Hindu Kush Himalayan Range. Ladakh is also called The Land of Mountain Passes that still has an air of mystery around it.
We have designed one of the unique tour ‘Ladakh Cultural tour’ which will give you the chance to explore the tradition and cultural of Ladakh. During this tour visit various small villages to experience the simple lifestyle of the people of Ladakh. Also explore their lavish and ornate Buddhist Gompas. The duration of the tour is 14 nights and 15 days, covering Delhi – Manali, Jispa, Sarchu, Leh, Uley Topko and Basgo.
Itinerary
Day 1: Delhi
On arrival at the Delhi airport, our representative will meet you at the airport, transfer to your pre-booked hotel. Check in to the hotel. After freshen up, proceed for city tour of Delhi, which will cover the major sites of the city such as India Gate, Parliament House, Swaminarayan Akshardham temple, Humayun Tomb and Red Fort, Laxmi Narayan Temple and Chhatrapur Temple. Later in the evening, enjoy dinner in one of the finest restaurants of Delhi. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2: Delhi - Chandigarh - Manali
Today in the early morning, transfer to New Delhi railway station to board a train to Chandigarh. On arrival in Chandigarh railway station, meet our representative, drive to Manali, which is located at the distance of 292 kilometers away from Chandigarh. , Manali is one of the most popular hill stations in India and is known for its snow clad mountains and impenetrable pinewood forest. .It is located at an altitude of 2,050 meter in the Beas River Valley, near the northern end of the Kullu Valley. On arrival in Manali, check-in at your pre-booked hotel. Have your dinner. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 3: Manali Sightseeing
After breakfast, proceed for sightseeing tour of Manali. The major tourist attractions of Manali include Hadimba temple, Gayatri temple, Bijli Mahadev temple and the Vashist Hot Water Springs. Later in the day visit Solang Valley which offers breathtaking view of snowcapped mountains and glaciers, the place is also popular for adventure sports such as Parachuting, skating, zorbing and paragliding. In the evening you can roam around the Mall road where you can do the shopping for local handicraft items. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 4: Manali - Keylong - Jispa Sightseeing
Today post breakfast, proceed to Jispa. En-route visit Rohtang Pass and Keylong. On reaching Rohtang Pass, from the crest of the pass, one can take in a sweeping panorama of Mountain Ranges, Pinnacles, precipitous cliffs, ridges, huge glaciers, moraine and deep ravines. After the visit continue drive to Lahaul valley to reach Keylong. A popular stopover on the Manali- Ladakh road, which is located at the distance of 117 kilometers from Manali. It is a quit town.On reaching Keylong visit the Keylong bustling village to explore the culture and tradition of the villagers from close quarters and the Khardhug monastery.
Further resume your drive to Jispa, just 22 kilometers away from Keylong on the road to Leh, it offers amazing scenery and panoramic views of the beautiful surroundings. On arrival in Jipsa, check-in at the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 5: Jispa - Sarchu Sightseeing
After breakfast, drive to Sarchu. It is a major halt point that provides for tented accommodation on the Leh-Manali highway. While driving to Sarchu, stop midway at Upshi to visit Hundur and Hemis monastery. Tibetan monastery is the one of the biggest in Ladakh which is located approximately 45 kilometres from Ladakh. The existence of this monastery was before 11th century but it was rebuilt 1672. The honor of Lord Padmasambhava; every year this monastery host the cultural and traditional festival, Enjoy an overnight stay at the camp.
Day 6: Sarchu - Leh
Today after early breakfast, procced to Leh. En-route, take a halt at Upshi to visit Hundur and Hemis monastery. Leh is located 222 kilometers away from Sarchu. Once you reach Leh, check-in at hotel. Rest day free at leisure. In the evening take a walk to explore nearby Leh area along with the markets. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Leh
Post breakfast proceed to Thiksey Gompa, which is located in the village of Ladakh. The monastery is popular for the gold-plated statue of Lord Buddha, called the Maitreya Buddha. Also visit the Indus Valley Monastery. Then return to the Leh city and post lunch visit the beautiful Stok Palace that lies on the bank opposite to Tsangspo River. Spend night at the hotel.
Day 8: Leh (Excursion Tour)Sightseeing
Early in the morning after breakfast leave hotel for an excursion to Stok village. The Namgyal royal family of Ladakh has been living in the Stok Palace since they were ousted by Jammu’s Genral Zarawar Singh. The Palace also houses a museum, that the only part of the complex which is open for tourists. The museum houses old weaponry, coins , government seals and some wonderful thangka paintings, antique robes and royal jewelry featuring red coral and turquoise gems in its design. Lather visit Stok Gompa, associated with the yellow-hat sect of Buddhism. In the afternoon visit the beautiful Leh Palace also visit the Sankar Gompa, which is located at the distance of 2 Kilometers from Leh.
Evening visit the Tibetan Refugee camp, which is an important study center of Tibetan literature, Buddhist philosophy and history. Return to the hotel at late evening. Overnight stay at hotel
Day 9: Leh - Phyang - Likir - Uley Topko
After breakfast, proceed to Uley Topko. En-route, visit the Phyang and Likir monastery. The Phyang monastery is a traditional monastery of Ladakh and is famous for its spectacular religious festival with masked dances. After visiting the monastery resume your drive to Likir monastery which belongs to the Gelugpa Sect and features a 9m height statue of Lord Buddha. After the visit, move towards to Uley Topko. On reaching Uley Topko, check in at the Camp. Overnight stay at Camp.
Day 10: Uley Topko - Rizong - Lamayuru - Uley Topko(Excursion Tour)
Post breakfast, proceed to Rizong and Lamayuru by road. On reaching Rizong, visit to Rizong gompa. After visiting the Rizong gompa, continue drive to Lamayuru. Lamayur Gompa is located in Lamayuru village, visited by a large number of tourists for its lunar landscape. It is the earliest surviving monastery of Ladakh, known as Yung-drung or the Swastika. The monastery has a small temple devoted to Avalokiteshwara. After the visit resume your drive to Alchi- Ladakh’s most visited monastery of Ladakh. It is the only monastery built on the flat ground in Ladakh. Later in the evening drive back to Uley Topko for an overnight stay.
Day 11: Uleytopko - Alchi - Basgo
After breakfast, drive to Basgo. Take a halt on mid-way to visit Alchi. On reaching Alchi, visit Alchi monastery the most famous monastery of Ladakh. It is the only monastery built on the flat ground in Ladakh. Resume drive to Basgo. On reaching Basgo, check-in at your pre-booked hotels. After freshen up relax for a while in your room. Later visit the Basgo Castle, located on the hill of clay. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 12: Basgo - Leh
Today after having breakfast, proceed for full day excursion to Pangong Lake. which is located at the distance of 135 kilometers east of Leh via the Changla Pass and drive past Durbuk and Tangste villages in the Changthang region of Ladakh. It is one of the most amazing lakes in Asia and changes its color 4 to 5 times in a day. After visiting the lake , proceed to Leh, on arrival in Leh, check in to the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 13: Leh
Post breakfast proceed for Khardung La. This is kwon as the world’s highest motor able pass located at an altitude of 5602 meters above sea level. This pass is situated 40 kilometers from Leh and it was established in 1976 and opened for motor vehicles in 1988. It is also a strategic point for Indian military, as it servers a link to Siachen glacier. The foreign tourists need special permit to visit this place. Later enjoy the shopping, buy some local items of Ladakh. Overnight at hotel.
Day 14: Leh - Delhi
In the morning after breakfast, transfer to Leh airport in time to board a flight to Delhi. As you reach Delhi, check-in at one of our listed hotels. Rest day is free at leisure. Enjoy a delicious dinner. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 15: Delhi
